PingLocker Limited Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
The Modern Slavery Act (2015) introduced new rules regarding transparency in supply chains. The Act seeks to address the role of businesses in protecting human rights and preventing modern slavery from occurring in their supply chain.

This statement sets out the steps taken by PingLocker to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains and also details of our additional measures to be undertaken during 2018.

Introduction
PingLocker Limited was formed in 2013 and provides on-demand property concierge platform's to student and residential properties across the UK, allowing residents to access a range of on-demand services and convenient amenities within their property.

Policies and contractual controls
The companies Modern Slavery Policy was introduced in March 2018 and supports our Code of Ethics where we confirm we will not tolerate or condone abuse of human rights within any part of our business or supply chain. The company has a confidential helpline in support of its Whistleblowing policy where members of staff can raise concerns over any wrongdoing which extends to human rights violations and modern slavery. Reports are treated in confidence and are always fully investigated at executive level.

Assessment of risk in the supply chain
Our Procurement Department has reviewed our supply chains and has identified five specific areas where we consider there may be a greater risk of modern slavery. In 2018 specific due diligence activity will be focussed on suppliers in these potentially higher risk areas:
  • Cleaning and housekeeping
  • Sub-contractors for construction activities
  • Overseas companies supplying outsourced business processing services
  • Agency Staff
  • Detailed risk assessments will be conducted in 2019 and appropriate control measures introduced
 
Modern slavery training and compliance
The company's Learning and Development team will be looking to include training on Modern Slavery within it's core training package including how to spot it and how to raise it as an issue. We only contract with suppliers with the same ethos as our company and our partners in respect to Modern Slavery, and undertake spot checks and other measure to ensure they comply.

These checks will examine the following:
  • Staff members have a passport and a right to work in the UK and that the passports are not retained by the employer
  • Staff have a National Insurance number
  • Staff are paid at least national minimum wage or national living wage as applicable
